'Yellowstone' Star Kelly Reilly Explains Why This Beth Dutton Scene Upsets Fans

This is your daily reminder that Yellowstone's Beth Dutton, played by Kelly Reilly, will Beth Dutton out of everyone who gives her a sideways look—including a little child.

Beth took Carter in season One but wouldn't allow him call her mom in the finale.

“America persecuted me!” TVLine's Reilly. "That's the character, not me!" I understand. She should be Carter's mother too.”

Before you get worked up, Reilly continued with her imaginary counterpart's support.

“If she’s telling this kid she’s just met, ‘Yeah, I’ll be your mom,’ that’s not truthful to him,” she added.

“She says, ‘You had a mom. She died. That's irreplaceable. I’ll be your friend. That’s honorable.”

Beth Dutton forever. Considering the character's past stunts, it's funny that fans choose this one.

Since Yellowstone season 5 is still a ways off, here's a half-hour supercut of Beth Dutton's best moments.
