The Mega Millions jackpot has increased to an estimated $1.35 billion after the latest mega-jackpot went unclaimed.
The winning numbers were 7, 13, 14, 15, 18 and the gold Mega Ball 9 on Tuesday night.
The new jackpot drawing on Friday night will be another milestone for the game, according to a statement released by Mega Millions on Wednesday morning.
Pat McDonald, Ohio lottery director and lead director of the Mega Millions Consortium, said in a statement, "Now at $1.35 billion, the Mega Millions jackpot is climbing and making history as the second largest Mega Millions jackpot ever."
The largest reward ever won in the United States was a $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot won in California in November.
Despite the game's odds of 1 in 302,6 million, participants continue to purchase tickets as the grand prize amount increases.
The Mega Millions lottery is played in 45 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
