LSU's Latanna Stone finishes second at US Women's Amateur.
This past weekend, the U.S. Women's Amateur was held at Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles.
LSU graduate student and golfer Latanna Stone competed in the tournament.
Stone had an outstanding run, but she ended up finishing in second place overall.
Despite dealing with ailments throughout the week, Stone was able to overcome the competition and make it all the way to the final of the tournament.
where she lost to Megan Schofill of Auburn by a score of 4 and 3.
Along the way, she defeated the No. 7, 10, and 25 amateurs in the world.
Stone was quoted as saying in an official statement, "I think that I know that I can do this and hang out with the 'big guys.
It's just so unique and wonderful. Because both of my parents and all of my coaches are here, I know that this is a moment that I will always treasure.
