The story begins with a US army convoy and a chase with reckless youngsters, leading to a clash with disguised Russian soldiers.

Dr. Irina Spalko, a three-time winner of the Order of Lenin, interrogates Indy, but he proves difficult to read.

Indy leads the group to Hangar 51, finds the crate they seek, and escapes after a confrontation with Mac and the Soviets.
