The New York Liberty won the Commissioner's Cup in a game that was far from the attacking shootout that many expected.
On Tuesday night at Michelob Ultra Arena, the Liberty defeated the Las Vegas Aces 82-63 to win the WNBA's latest in-season tournament.
The Liberty shut down the Aces attack and won their second straight game against the club that has been dominating the league all summer,
despite a relatively bad shooting night all around.
The Commissioner's Cup MVP was Jonquel Jones. She had 16 points and 15 rebounds in the final game, her 11th double-double of the season.
Despite the fact that this was a match between the league's two highest-scoring clubs,
neither could score early on. It wasn't until A'ja Wilson sank a free throw more than three and a half minutes in that someone scored.
It required 14 possessions and a total of 0-12 from the field.
